Project 1; Architecture website

Our first project was being involved in a website called The High-Rise Pages. It was established in 1997 and it was an instant success. Hundreds of thousands of people have visited this website for the past few years. And therefore it is by far the most successful contributor to The Million Dollar Quest. We have been fooling around for a while with pay-per-click schemes for this website but that only resulted in about 100 dollar earnings, about the same one could make with flipping hamburgers for a couple of days. Note how difficult it must be to earn some serious cash by joining pay-per-click programs. A typical website earns about 10 dollar per 1,000 unique visitors. So if you want to make a 1,000 dollar a month with this kind of activity, you must create a website that will attract 100,000 unique visitors every month! That's over 3,000 visitors every day! This project showed that pay-per-click basically doesn't work for webmasters, unless you know how to draw a gazillion visitors.

Of course, we could have made more money the pay-per-click schemes than only a pathetic 100 dollar, but the trouble was that some of the pay-per-click companies simply didn't pay, got broke or never answered any e-mail. So we generated pageviews for them, but some of them never came up with the money.

We did better business by finding a building company that wanted to put their banner on The High-Rise Pages. They did that for about 4 months wich resulted in about 2000 dollar earnings for us. ANd we were just mediators! So up to now the high-rise pages contributed for about 90% to the results of the million dollar quest.
